CSFL Partners with CSIA and CMMA

Toronto , Ontario June 27, 2005 – For the first time ever in Canadian history the Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association(“CSIA”), Canadian Marine Manufacturers Association (“CMMA”) / Discover Boating, and the Competitive Sport Fishing League (“CSFL”) together with competitive anglers will come together for a national fundraiser to support the First Annual Industry Pro Am Event.

Andrew and Vita Pallotta of the CSFL have launched a campaign to generate funds to help the CSIA and the CMMA/Discover Boating with their respective projects ensuring the future of boating and angling for years to come.

Details of the Event

On Wednesday, August 24, 2005 , on Lake Scugog out of Goreski’s Lakeside Resort, professional tournament anglers will be paired with co-anglers for an 8:00 am blast off. At 11:30 am , the team will return to the on-water weigh in stage to weigh in a maximum of four fish consisting of one largemouth, one smallmouth, one walleye and one pan fish to be followed by a BBQ lunch at Paul’s on Scugog (Goreski’s). After lunch the Pros will return to their boats and will be teamed up with a different co-angler for a 1:00 pm blast off to return at 4:30 pm to weigh in their four multi-species. Immediately after the second weigh in, a steak dinner will be served at 6:00 pm , followed by an awards presentation hosted by Dave Mercer of Facts of Fishing.

Andrew Pallotta states “This opportunity will benefit all those involved in the industry. The marine industry meets the tackle industry giving opportunity for future projects as well as allowing the CSFL to demonstrate their commitment to the sport.” Andrew also adds “The anglers will prove their professionalism on and off the water thereby establishing their place in the industry. It is with great pleasure that we are able to donate our time and efforts to the industry that has supported us throughout the years.“

Nelson Murakami, a Director of the CSIA stated “This event will provide an excellent opportunity for everyone to experience a pro-am fishing event, meet new friends, support a great cause plus have fun!”

CMMA Executive Director remarks, “Fishing is a key component of the boating industry’s economic mosaic. As such, it is synergistic to bring the Discover Boating campaign together with CSIA for this fundraising event. CMMA and Discover Boating are proud to be involved. Congratulations to CSFL for being the catalyst. Fish On!”
