CSFL Partners with OBF
Toronto , Ontario : March 1, 2005 The Competitive Sport Fishing League announced today that they will be providing financial support to Team Ontario of the Ontario BASS Federation (“OBF”). Andrew and Vita Pallotta of the Competitive Sport Fishing League (“CSFL”) have launched a campaign to help Team Ontario become more competitive in the annual Eastern Division B.A.S.S. Federation Championship, by providing financial assistance to absorb expenses incurred around these events. Ken Hamilton, the President of the OBF states “I am excited to be working with the CSFL as they have always supported the OBF with our Regional Qualifiers and more recently the Northern Qualifier in Midland , Ontario .” Wil Wegman who is the Conservation and Media Director for the OBF noted that “As a non-profit organization, the OBF is constantly seeking fundraising opportunities to help support conservation and youth projects as well as making Team Ontario competitive. This initiative by CSFL to help support our federation is a testament to their belief in our organization and I am sure it will be mutually beneficial to both groups.” Andrew Pallotta states that “I feel the OBF members are passionate about the sport and have demonstrated this with Casting Kids events, educating anglers and with numerous conservation projects. The amount of time and work contributed by the members of the OBF is priceless; a loyalty that cannot be bought.” Andrew Pallotta further states “The OBF is a link to the US anglers and manufacturers in delivering a strong message that Canadian anglers are very competitive. With the OBF moving to an Eastern Division with similar waters to ours and with our additional financial support, Team Ontario can prove to be an aggressive opponent. Ultimately the goal of the CSFL and OBF is to see an angler from Team Ontario make the Bassmasters Classic and represent Canada at this ‘The World Championships of Bass Fishing’. We are proud to be associated in this exciting new partnership with the OBF”. Details on the CSFL/OBF Program For each member of the OBF participating in the CSFL Pro Bass Tour, Bassmania Tournament Trail and/or BM100’s, with the exception of the respective invitational events, $5.00 per OBF member, per event will be donated to the OBF in support of Team Ontario. So for example if two Ontario Bassmasters sign up as a team in the four events in the Bassmania Western Division and the Simcoe Wildcard, $50.00 will be allocated for Team Ontario . All OBF members must present a valid B.A.S.S. membership card in order to be eligible. The Competitive Sport Fishing League offers a comprehensive schedule for tournament anglers with payouts substantially higher than its competitors. CSFL President, Andrew Pallotta, stated “No matter what your skill level is we have a tournament category to meet your needs. With great companies like Lund Boats and Mercury Marine behind us we are able to provide our customers, the spectators, and supporters direct delivery of product knowledge, fishing techniques, on water strategies, and an exciting weigh-in show to feast the eyes.”
