As we get closer to Canadian Open week would anyone care to guess the winning weight and possible winner? All of those Great Lakes 3 to 3 1/2 pound year class fish are getting bigger so my guess is there will be a lot of nice fish come to the scale.

Izumi - - 61 lbs (if the wind cooperates)
Cheers,
Ben Clapp
Strub 59lbs(if wind doesn't cooperate)
Ill through a couple in the mix. Id say either one of the johnson's could do it again, strub, izumi should do well again im sure because he won the flw tour event right after, and id say my roomates but dont want to jinx anything for them lol.
I don't know who, but i think it will take more than 60 lbs this year. 64 lbs for the win.
im with ryan somewhere around 65 for the win
Is DesForges fishing?
It would be great to have a list of entries.
i dont think all the pro spots are confirmed. last i heard they still needed almost 20 co anglers
There's plenty of quality Anglers competing in the Canadian Open this year im with Ryan 64+ to win. Let's hope for great weather and low winds so people and equipment return to the dock safety each day. In Kingston it blows even when it's not supposed to!
Peace Out
Dan
Well I hope it blows like a mother! And I say Danny Dunn with 64 to 67 lbs.
Brother, you just want it to blow because you never leave the harbour:PQuote:

Kurt, yes Deforges is fishing (hes one of my roomates lol)
lol! That's right brother.
Mike likes the feeling of the wind in his hair :)! Winds are predicted to be comparitively light next week - better bring a fan Mr. Brown...
if 14 knots from SW on Wed is light in your books, i would hate to see what nasty looks like. LOL
SailFlow has it as pretty calm for the next 4days.... then starting to blow on Sunday... just in time for my arrival! :(

Damn I hate the wind!
Here is another source that is quite detailed.
windfinder.com
They are calling for big winds on the way as well.
bah hah ha - Ryan - by next week - I meant THIS week! :) 'Tupid wind - Monday Tuesday look Ok next week, but who knows - that's a week away - sail flow is pretty reliable can winds can land a day earlier or later but usually what I find on there happens regardless...
I would hate to see another day cancelled like last year!!! baahhhhh stupid wind. If theyre thinkin about cancelling one day just have it be a river only day
Back to winning weights
Danny Dunn - 59.17
A river only day would be fine with me!
Long term predictions are rarely very accurate.
What a tough choice:O- so many great anglers - some I have had the honour and privilege to fish with as a co-angler -
I am going to guess / predict -Mike Desforges- 60 + pounds - if anyone can find the big girls and bring them in it is Mike!
Good luck to all competitors !
Money on Mike D.?LOLQuote:

My wildcard pick is Franklin Jansen , fished with him last year in the open and he is a top notch gentleman, angler and comes from good fishing roots . I believe his winning weight will be around 64 and change .
Cheers , Ed
Winds.... Well I was out to the Ducks today (from Gananoque) and they were calling for 10 kms winds . Well let me tell you, by the time I got out there I swear the waves were 4-5 footer.... Lets hope for 5 kms winds next week boys..
PS: the bite was slow...but big..
Cheers, Frank
Let it blow, let it blow, let it blow. lol. I too do not want to see a day cancelled though.
Simon frost, 60.68, I was out there today too, frank. The waves are just part of the experience.
I would really like to see danny dunn win. That would be awesome.
Johnson 61 lbs
