30lb Bag
I see that there was a 23.5lb bag for 4 fish last week. Throw in a nice 7lb kicker for the 5th and there you have it!
I would say that with the level of talent that will be in this event, if there is 30lbs out there, one team from this field will find it!
I only wish I could be there to hear Mercer's reaction on stage when the bag hits the scales. (not to say Mercer won't catch it!)
Obviously Simcoe has built the reputation for huge bags. However, keep an eye on St. Clait next year. I predict we will see several 25lbs plus bags next season. The conditions are perfect and the bait on this lake is huge and everywhere.
Prediction...Simcoe winning weight......30.2lbs
I have the team in mind but will keep to myself, I'd hate to jinx them!
Have fun with this one guys.

I have a buddy who caught a 8lb fish on Erie this yr(Bruce Leeson). With the Smelt forage on Simcoe, I'm sure they will break the 30 lb mark soon. It's been pretty close for a few yrs now with 29 + being weighed in .:O

If you are there at the right time and right place, either Erie or Simcoe could give up a 30 pound bag. Given some of the talent at the BPS Open and the CBAF in Port Colborne, it could easily happen soon. Good luck to all and hopefully history will be made this weekend or next.

Saturday is looking so far to be chilly and wet which is perfect Smallie weather! Just as long as those winds stay as predicted it's going to be an awesome day.
Hopefully these cooler temps will start to get those fish stacked up.
Just as an FYI the Niagara Bassmasters will be holding an Open T on Lake Erie on November 11th for those looking to catch back to back 30 pound bags.......details will be out soon.
