Was their a poll last year?

I personally don't like Tri-Lakes, but I would be shocked if enough people liked those lakes so much that it could win a popularity poll.

There was a poll conducted. The feedback was taken into consideration when coming up with the 2009 Classic. And most people voted for the Tri Lakes (2nd to only Simcoe)

    BM100\'s

Sorry to see the BM100's, that were not crossovers, are gone for next year.

I think Andy is trying to keep the pot up by doing the crossovers. What would be nice is if separate points were awarded after the event. That is payouts based on overall finish, but points awarded according to the division. Therefore, say a 10th place finish by someone registered in the BM100 would receive a cheque based on the overall field, but would receive 200 points as the highest registered BM 100 finisher.

May be too complicated and confusing though

now that the 100 series is combined with the unrestricted it seems to have lost its niche. I understand what Andy is trying to do but payouts should be separate.

If they split the points in the crossovers, they create a larger gap between BM100 finishers, also if they split the money you would be putting in $300 to fish against 30 other teams for a possible prize of say $1000 for first. I'd say Andy is on the right track, lets see if the support is there in the division next season.

I think that the classic location should be kept a secret and have andy send out an email the day before giving the location and allowing NO prefishing or even being on the water or have all the anglers show up at the thursday night meeting at a neutral location and only then letting everyone know where they are going to fish

Yah - that's what Ray did for the first Bassmaster Classic 30 years ago ... and although it would work for a small club tourney ... it wouldn't for a major event like a Championship. Way too much planning and promotion has to occur beforehand - both for the organizers and participants.

Actually it would create a smaller gap. If you're the top finishing BM100 boat you'd get 200 points regardless of where you finish in the overall field. If you're the second BM100 boat you'd get 199 points. As it is now there is a huge gap between first, second etc.... in a given horsepower division.
